Broadford is the second largest village in the Isle of Skye, lying alongside the south of Broadford Bay with views that strect to the Isle of Pabay. The village contains plenty of necessities for tourists including a variety of shops, hotels and even craft stalls. The nearby village of Elgol boasts 'the finest view in Britain' from the end of Cullen Ridge which is seen across Loch Saviag, whilst Loch Corsuik lies within Cullin Mountain Range. You can take a ferry to the mainland from the nearby Sleat Pennisula, named the 'Garden of Skye', over to Armadale and Mallaig.
An absolutely outstanding cosy clean well equipped cottage. Wonderful garden with the best views of Blaven. Everything you’d need is in the cottage. A stunning quiet beach is 15min walk away and Amy’s Tearoom is less than a 5min walk with wonderful home baked cakes. A lovely little welcome pack with dog treats was left for us on arrival too. Needless to say next years is already booked back at the beautiful Hawthorn Dene.
This really is a brilliant holiday cottage in terms of both the facilities and location. The cottage is cosy, neutrally decorated and extremely well equipped, the welcome pack was much appreciated. Bedrooms were comfortable and we all slept well after spending our days hiking around the island. Outside the garden is very peaceful but the view over to Bla Bheinn is truly astounding. It was lovely to sit there and watch as the weather made it an ever changing scene. In terms of location its great - so many walks and places of interest either on the doorstep or a very short drive, The owner was very efficient and responsive, I do hope that we can return again soon.
