Two bedrooms: 1 x King-size with en suite bathroom, 1 x twin. Fully tiled ground floor shower room. Open plan lounge/dining room with a cathedral ceiling. Modern kitchen. Private deck area.
Flat screen Smart TV, with DVD. Wifi. Ceramic hob, fan assisted oven, fridge, freezer, washer/dryer and microwave. Parking for 1-2 cars on site. All duvets, pillows, bed linen and bath/hand towels are supplied. Strictly No Smoking
Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?
The bones of the cottage are very good HOWEVER there was mould around the skirtings of the bedroom door and the patio and kitchen doors, the patio door is falling apart it doesn’t close properly and there is an awful draught coming through it, part of the beading on the outside is detached from it, the kitchen door doesn’t close properly and when it rains water comes through and consequently the coir mat inside is soaked, the curtains in the main bedroom and lounge have mould up the back of them and the bedroom carpet has mould by the door, the general paintwork up the stairs needs repainting or touching up, the sofa is very uncomfortable and beds are very firm and uncomfortable, we contacted Coast and Countryside cottage the first afternoon we arrived about the mould the response was ‘thank you for bringing this to our attention’ we should have insisted on someone coming out to clean it, it’s a health hazard for asthmatics, there was thick dust on the skirting boards and the bedroom lamps and bedstead along with cobwebs, I would suggest getting new cleaners in to doing a deep clean and washing the curtains and the carpets as stained, I didn’t expect to be cleaning the property as soon as we arrived, we won’t be going back.
Booked this property in 2022 & it was great however unfortunately our recent stay was very disappointing (I should have read more recent reviews) therefore I would not recommend this property. Complained to Coast & Country / Sykes on our 1st morning about general poor cleanliness (kitchen & bathroom surfaces & lounge / bedroom floors) & large amount of cobwebs & spiders (no vacuum cleaner in property & it shows) they promised to send a cleaner out to sort same day but this did not happen, after further calls 2 days later a cleaner came out & advised property was satisfactory (removed a few cobwebs when I expected a deep clean), I disagreed & requested a member of staff from C&C Dartmouth office visit to view, during visit on our last day they agreed the property was unacceptable, took photos & advised they would discuss with 3rd party cleaner & also owner regarding compensation. Despite this & my official complaint with photo's Sykes advised me that the owner of the property would not agree to compensation for a spoilt holiday & closed the complaint.

All prices are inclusive of the booking fee. Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
