What a find……. From arrival to departure we thoroughly enjoyed our time in this wonderful cottage. The views, the cottage itself and its facilities, nothing negative at all. A good place for walking, biking and water sports nearby within walking distance. We even had 8 or 9 deer visit us Thank you

A lovely house within the wonderful area of Kincraig. Kitchen is small with not much cupboard space for food storage. Microwave was old but worked well. It also has an aga which is extremely hot and this is a worry with small children. It makes the house very hot which will be great in winter. The wooden floors are very nice but slippery. Not ideal for children or for elderly people. Unfortunately no instructions on how to use the aga or dishwasher, we looked it up on internet. Owner did visit next day to explain and showed us aga books. Washing machine is in a cupboard under the stairs, had to be on hands and knees to load or unload. Very good wifi signal. No wardrobes in upstairs bedrooms and small old one in downstairs bedroom. There are chests of drawers in all rooms. Beds very comfortable. Curtains are very light so in Summer, rooms are still light maybe need blackout blinds. Bathrooms were very nice. Horses in field behind garden were great but one kept escaping into another strip that was next to house. He kept neighing to be put back in his field. House owner said she would speak to horse owner at beginning of week. Horse did it nearly everyday as fence wasnt up properly. Luckily we are used to horses. Had views of deer and hares, shame no bird feeding station as lots of different species around. Lovely house and great design but we wont be staying again.

We have just returned from a week at Inshcraig. It is a beautiful cottage; spotlessly clean, warm and cosy and comfortable. We had no trouble finding it with the directions given and although I was unsure about using an aga it couldn't have been easier. The owner popped in to welcome us an hour after we arrived, there was even a Christmas tree and a bottle of bubbly. We had a wonderful holiday and hope to return one day. Highly recommended!

Super schnelles W-Lan. Auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung wert. Kommen gerne wieder.

What a warm welcoming cottage and much bigger than we imagined.

The property was, in the opinion of all of us, simply "outstanding". We could not find a fault. Special mention must be given to the standard of cleanliness and presentation. You will not be disappointed!

Our time at Inshcraig was thoroughly enjoyable. The quality of the fixtures, fittings and finishes is high, the plan layout of rooms is well considered and the Aga ensures a toasty welcome whatever the weather outside. It's clear from the interior that this cottage has been decorated and furnished with care making it a warm, welcoming and homely place.

A cosy, well equipped cottage in a beautiful location.

Rated by Mrs Roberts reviewed on 31st January 2016

At the beginning of the holiday things were a little stressful as the directions to the place are not great and we spent 40 minutes driving up and down a road trying every track we could in the pitch black as they are half a mile out and the postcode is not near the properly. Once we arrived things considerably improved. The house is quite spacious and the living room is very cosy with a beautiful view and lovely fire. Jennifer popped in during the week and was very nice and cooking with the aga was definitely an experience, by the evening we didn't even need the fire and it kicks out quite a lot of heat. Now we've found the place we would definitely return and it is a brilliant location for getting around! I would highly recommend but maybe request additional directions!

The property is very comfortable for an off season break; the Aga in the kitchen is very easy to use and keeps the property warm and cosy, as does the open fire in the living room. Inshcraig is in an ideal location to access all the local attractions, but is in a quite and picturesque setting to relax and just enjoy the wildlife from the cottage. Wifi is very useful for keeping in touch with the outside world. The sofas and beds are all very comfortable and the decor and furnishings are all of a very good standard. We have stayed here twice now, at different times of the year, and would always choose Inshcraig, if available, when returning to the area.

Rated by Mrs Wiseman reviewed on 15th November 2015

The cottage was very tastefully furnished and decorated. The neutral colours in the bedrooms created a calm and relaxed atmosphere in which we all slept really well. Inshcraig is so peaceful with amazing views from the garden. This was my first experience of using an AGA which I loved, food is cooked at an even temperature and washing hung on the clothes horse at night in kitchen was dry the next morning.

Excellent, well appointed cottage in a superb location.

Rated by Ms Parker reviewed on 31st May 2015

The cottage is well equipped, roomy and very comfy. The view from the cottage to the surrounding forest and hills is amazing, and you can basically step out of the door and start walking in a calm and beautiful environment. It was what I hoped for when I booked the cottage, and it was exactly what I got. While the cottage is indeed remote, and finding it the first time was a bit of an adventure, it was the ideal base to travel around the Aviemore and the Cairngorms. Everything we wanted to look at was just a short drive away. Should we come back to Aviemore, we'll definitely try to book Inshcraig again.

Our stay at the cottage was extremely enjoyable. We arrived tired and worn out from work and having to deal with too many people. We left batteries recharged, ready to deal with the problems again!! The owner must be complimented for the presentation of all aspects of the cottage. We have just booked a week in March 2015 and when diaries settle down will book again for November 2015.

The owner is very kind and helpful and her artistic talents are revealed in the sensitive way she has furnished this lovely cottage. Even her own paintings adorn the walls. It is very clean, bright and fresh and has a lovely homely feel in a quiet location yet near to lots of outdoor things to do. Great for all ages. This has been our favourite holiday cottage for over 20 years and we have been in Spring, Summer and Autumn.

As Bird-watchers this is a fantastic area of Scotland to be based in giving not only access to typical highland species but not too far from the coast to add variety. The weather this year was good enabling us to get out comfortably. Although there were only three of us the cottage was well appointed to cater for 6.

This cottage is delightful and in a perfect location within a short walk through forest to Loch Insh Watersports Centre. Jennifer the owner has made the cottage so charming and cosy and is always on hand should anything arise. we stayed in this cottage for over 20 years on holiday before it was sold and are delighted to be able once again to make it our favourite holiday house. Now our grandchildren love to come and stay and enjoy the freedom of the outdoor space and the ponies in the field,

Peaceful and private house perfectly located for mountain biking adventures. Lovely property.

Rated by Ms Clark reviewed on 16th September 2013

We received a very warm welcome from Jennifer, the cottage owner who lived within walking distance away from the cottage. This cottage is tastefully decorated with all he amenities you would ever need and in an idyllic area. The AGA was fun to cook on but did make the cottage extremely warm and when the weather was already warm actually the heat became overbearing at times. Due to the location of the cottage being the highlands, the summer days are long and it was not dark until almost midnight and was light again within 3 hours. This proved difficult for my little one who struggled as the curtains were quite light and could maybe benefit from some blackout blinds or darker curtains?? We ended up putting a throw over the curtain rails to make the room darker. We took our 6 yr old and she loved seeing a red deer walk past the lounge window in the field next door and giving carrots to the ponies in the field adjacent to the property. The birds were nesting in the wall and it was great to see them flying in and out and hearing the young at feeding time. A short walk away is Loch Insh and there is a beautiful sunset from here. Locally Inshriac Nursery has a cake shop called The Potting Shed where the cakes are amazing but even more so the bird feeders there attract many different birds including woodpeckers and also 3 beautiful Red Squirrel. A drive up to Cairngorm Mountain is a must! We went up early evening and saw a herd of reindeer walking along the road up there. The RSPB Osprey Centre is a fantastic place to visit with very knowledgeable staff and volunteers which made it extra special for my little girl. The Highland Folk Museum is great for kids and only a short drive away to Newtownmore. The added bonus is ... its FREE!!! A definite disadvantage is there is a very poor signal for mobile telephones and no internet access. A great holiday had by all.

We spent Christmas week in this wonderful cottage, its very large and spacious with 3/4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms/shower rooms one on suite. lovely and warm with an Aga cooker and best of all an open fire, logs provided. It is 8 miles from Aviemore, and a friendly local shop that sells everything. The Cairngorms were full of snow we went up the venicular railway to the top and watched all of the ski slopes, great day out. All in all a great week ( car hire essential ) Many thanks Sykes.

Arrived and found key in agreed place, let ourselves in and got comfy. Name and contact number of owner was on a blackboard in the kitchen. The house was everything we had expected and more. Lovely bright living/dining room. Great aGa in the kitchen and bedrooms & bathrooms beautifully decorated and comfortable. There were a couple of hotels/restaurants nearby but appeared to be closed. We travelled into aviemore and went up on the fenicular railway - fantastic views! A visit to the Brewery is also a must. Food at the Winking Owl was great and the takeaway Indian meal was also excellent.

The spotless, cosy and roomy accommodation was ideal for our family of two adults and two teenage boys. We enjoy the outdoors and the location of the property was ideal for this. Good mountain biking routes set off from the cottage and several Munros and smaller hills were easily accessible from the cottage. If you want peace and space to explore the cottage is ideal, and even has a large porch for muddy wet gear. Anyone looking for lively attractions visitor's centres, nightlife and entertainment would be disappointed though. Aviemore, with its supermarket, pubs restaurants, clay pigeon shooting and other outdoor pursuits is only a few miles away.

Rated by Mrs Blair reviewed on 23rd October 2011

A group of 6 of us, including two young children, stayed at Inshcraig for three days at the beginning of October 2011, and we really couldn’t have asked for more. It’s a beautiful house, decorated to a very high standard, and we really felt comfortable and at home from the moment we arrived. The owner greeted us with a bottle of champagne, as we were the first guests to stay there since she took ownership (so I’m not sure all future guests will get the same!), and then showed us around and explained everything we needed to know, leaving us her number in case we needed help with anything (however, there is very limited mobile signal at the property, and you may need to move around the house a bit to find it). The kitchen had all the utensils and appliances you could need, with a beautiful Aga, and everything was where you would expect it to be, so there was no searching around for ages for something that wasn’t there! It had 2 large double bedrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs, with huge comfortable beds, and a third bedroom with 2 single beds. Also upstairs is a second lounge room, which could easily have been made into another double bedroom, but makes the whole place seem much more homely as it is somehow. There are 2 main bathrooms, with a heated floor in the downstairs one, and an en-suite to the downstairs bedroom. Outside there is small garden to the rear, and some log sheds to the side to keep the logs for the open fire dry. At the front there is ample parking for two or three cars. The small track up to the property is a bit bumpy, but fine if you drive slowly. I am really struggling to find anything negative to say, the best I can do is to mention that there was no kindling to get the log fire started, so we had to buy some, but I have mentioned this to Jennifer, the owner, and I'm sure it will be there in future. We couldn’t recommend this any more highly as a place to stay for a short break, or indeed a long break, personally I could live there for the rest of my life!
