Ashbourne is a superb example of an English market town, having a market place with vendors, an odd street pattern, small cobbled lanes, coaching inns, and almshouses. It is located near the southern extremity of the Peak District. The town was a fashionable social centre in the 18th century, and many excellent Georgian structures from that era still stand today. The town still has a lot to offer in terms of restaurants and inns, and it's considered a haven for antique hunters - but don't anticipate a good deal! The Dove and Manifold Valleys are close by for people who want more outdoor activities. It'll just take you 20 minutes to go to Alton Towers.
This house is set on 3 floors, ground is the kitchen that leads onto a small enclosed yard, middle is the lounge this is a cosy room with a good size smart TV over looking the main road. Top floor is the bedroom and bathroom, the bedroom is small but big enough to sleep in this also looks over the main road . the bathroom has a toilet and shower, all very modern and clean, all you could ask for, the hosts were very helpful and left fresh bread, butter, milk and fizz for us. If anything let it down it was very noisy with the lorries passing right next the front of the house. And it did say free off street parking, this is ony for 30mins. So we paid for a rover ticket that lasted 3 days in the car park that was just over the road for about £11 . The house is minutes away from the centre a great location. 10/10.
