A 16th century detached farmhouse set close to the northern shores of Ullswater. Horrockwood Farm is full of traditional character but finished with warm and luxurious decor. Step into the relaxing lounge with cosy fireplace and comfortable sofas. A second living space is also provided with spacious dining table and comfortable arm chairs overlooking fine views through pretty patio doors across to Ullswater. Prepare family meals in the well equipped farmhouse kitchen and enjoy the convenience of a separate utility area and shower room with cloakroom WC. Upstairs you’ll discover four comfortable bedrooms all with enviable lake views. There are two king size bedrooms, one with en-suite shower room and two twin rooms. A large family bathroom completes the first floor with a bath to relax in after a busy day walking on the local fells. Outside the property enjoys plenty of private parking and a terraced garden including a furnished patio, the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee. The property is reached along a private track passing traditional barns, which are occasionally used by the local farmer. Horrockwood is in a truly rural location, close to Ullswater the second largest lake in the Lake District and a place that inspired the famous work of English poet, William Wordsworth. Step aboard an Ullswater steamer to explore the lake in style or hire a rowing boat for a fun morning amongst friends. The beautiful village of Pooley Bridge is just a short drive away with great dining options and shops to browse. Also on your doorstep is the National Trust’s Aira Force, a leisurely loop walk to a view a spectacular 70ft waterfall. Just 2.5 miles away is Pooley Bridge with its array of amenities which sits on the northern shore of the lake in the Lake District National Park. The name Pooley originated due to the forming of a large pool, which was left by the fast flowing River Eamont. Pooley Bridge has many traditional inns and tempting tea rooms, plus the Ullswater Steamers depart from the village, from where a tranquil cruise down the lake to the villages of Glenridding and Howtown can be enjoyed. Glenridding (meaning glen overgrown with bracken) is a small tourist village with a range of local shops, cafes and restaurants. There are numerous walks with breathtaking views nearby, plus a short walk up to Dunmallard Hill reveals fascinating Iron-Age remains, whilst the towns of Penrith and Keswick are within driving distance. Watermillock is an ideal base for a cottage holiday stay in the stunning Lake District.

All prices are inclusive of the booking fee. Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
