Accommodation Details

Over 2 floors. 2 x bedrooms; 1 x double, 1 x twin, bathroom, ground floor shower room, lounge, dining kitchen, small yard with chairs and table and 1 parking permit. Dogs welcome.

Arrive at this traditional Lake District cottage, right at the heart of Windermere village, and you'll be surprised by the sophistication within. Spread over three floors, Tizzie Whizie Cottage is decadent yet relaxed; finished with natural colours, plumped up with leather furnishings and oozing Lakeland cottage charm. Two cottage bedrooms, each with a bathroom facility and one complete with roll top bath, perfect for a long soak after a day on the fells - this central cottage serves as a romantic retreat and its intriguing name is allegedly given originally by local Windermere boatmen to a waterside legend which was seen to reside on Belle Isle. This is a vibrant, convenient bolt hole, surrounded by sophisticated village facilities and well-placed for exploring our Lake District National Park. Permit parking is available outside the cottage and on neighbouring streets. Entrance hallway leading into the light and cosy lounge which has an opening into the dining kitchen. This kitchen has everything you need and with a door to the patio, ideal for summer evenings. Upstairs to the two cottage bedrooms, one double and one twin and on this level is the bathroom with roll top bath and shower attachment and on the lower ground level is the shower room.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.
