Cragfell Cottage is a great place to relax, it is set within gorgeous countryside with amazing views as far as the eye can see. If you are celebrating a special occasion or just wanting to spend time with your loved one, Cragfell Cottage is for you. The location just cannot be beaten and is conveniently situated for the local village store together with three public houses and restaurants at the neighbouring Strawberry Bank, Bowland Bridge and Winster. These are within a 25 minute walk or a short drive. It is also close to the bustling village of Bowness. After parking your car in one of the two parking spaces, step into the large and spacious open plan kitchen/diner with its exposed wooden beams and vaulted ceiling, the kitchen/dining area is fully equipped with everything you need to cook that hearty breakfast or indeed have romantic candlelit dinner. Just off the dining area is a downstairs cloakroom with WC and basin. The sitting room has floor to ceiling windows and French doors, enabling you to admire the views. Sit and watch the TV or relax and read a book. Step out from here and sit on the patio and watch the sun set or enjoy that BBQ or chilled drink of an evening. Take the stairs to a mezzanine area, a great chill out area with seating, a good place to sit and plan the day ahead. The bedroom too had great views and on the same level has a fully tiled shower room with basin and WC. To the rear of the property is a single brick store which is lockable with electric, ideal for safe storage of mountain bikes or canoes. This area can also be used to dry wet clothing.
The historic, South Lakeland village of Cartmel is renowned as the prettiest village in the Lake District. The Priory Church, one of the finest ecclesiastical buildings in the north of England, remains the heart of the community with its gatehouse forming the entrance to the village. The village features pretty streamside walks, quaint cobbled streets littered with antique shops, a charming gift shop, welcoming, traditional pubs serving real ale, the nationally acclaimed, Michelin Star awarded L'Enclume restaurant, and the Cartmel Village shop, which sells the famous sticky toffee pudding. Take advantage of excellent walking opportunities amidst beautiful, unspoilt countryside, visit The National Hunt Racecourse, Campbell Legend Bluebird Exhibition, Lakeland Motor Museum and Holker Hall with its spectacular gardens, all of which are close by. The quiet seaside retreat of Grange-over-Sands, with its Edwardian buildings and mountain backdrop, is a mere 2 miles away, whilst Windermere, with its panoramic views over England's longest lake, is within a thirty minute drive. A superb holiday destination, at any time of year.

Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
