Outside is parking for two cars, and the entrance porch doubles as a great place for storing muddy boots and outdoor clothing. The ground floor is where guests will find a well-equipped kitchen with super dining room ideal for family meals, board games and planning adventures for the week ahead. The first floor sitting rooms enjoys spectacular views over the Troutbeck Valley and surrounding countryside, while the fire and comfortable furnishings make it the ideal spot for relaxing with a glass of wine or local brew. The two bedroom and family bathroom are also on this floor. Once again, the country charm shines through and the pretty rooms are beautifully styled to suit this cosy cottage. Outside the garden with seating area is somewhere guests will want to linger, making the most of the picture postcard scenery. The village of Troutbeck is a peaceful haven, away from the busier villages of Windermere and Ambleside, but only a short drive away. The famous Mortal Man pub is on the doorstep, serving super pub meals and local ales. Another nearby pub is The Queens Head Inn; choice within walking distance. There is a local Village shop/cafe offering basic necessities but also delicious lunches and cakes. This is somewhere guests will want to return to, time and time again.

The small Lakeland village of Troutbeck can be found between its more famous neighbours Windermere and Ambleside, close by the Kirkstone Pass. A mixture of houses, cottages and farms, the village is scattered along a narrow lane bordered by a drystone wall. Many of these buildings date back to the 17th Century with features such as mullioned windows and heavy cylindrical chimneys and the northern end boasts its own 17th century inn. Close by, the bustling towns of Windermere and Ambleside are popular with visitors, providing a range of amenities to suit all tastes. Lake Windermere offers boat trips, including the lakeside ferry to the Lakeside Aquarium and Grizedale Forest Park. The ‘Windermere Steamboat Museum’ displays a fascinating collection of boats whilst children will enjoy the ‘World of Beatrix Potter’ in Bowness, where technology brings her characters to life. Within easy reach of destinations such as Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains, Troutbeck is ideally situated for exploring all that the region has to offer.
