Reviews

Firstly the pro’s - the location of this mid-terrace house is good for the centre of Ambleside. The parking space outside the door is very useful, especially if you have a dog. The laundry room is a boon, given the Lakes weather! BUT - the house is very tired. Embossed wallpaper painted magnolia throughout and not very clean either. The extractor fan above the hob, had years worth of grease on it and 1 tv remote was a positive health hazard. Lots of smart tv’s around. The kitchen is tiny, as is the garden which is quite noisy as it backs on to the main car park in the village. The garden is DEFINITELY NOT child friendly - lots of sharp slate tile edges around. And then there are the signs - everywhere. It’s like being constantly nagged. Where they can’t be wall mounted (in A4 black frames), they are sellotaped or pinned - in almost every room of the house. It’s just too much. Quite a few of the double glazing units had blown and the windows were in need of a clean. Very Tired and in need of a refurb. The website where we booked says that the ferry is “a short stroll away” - try a good 20 minutes at a steady pace...... I would not recommend this “cottage”.
