Windermere and Bowness are both within walking distance, to enjoy the excellent choice of bars, pubs, restaurants and bistros as well as unique and interesting shops and of course, the Lake District attractions and the great outdoors.Orrest Head, School Knott and Brantfell offer lovely walks with rewarding views direct from your front door. Or head into the high fells of the Troutbeck or Kentmere Valleys, enjoy mountain biking in Grizedale Forest or water sports or on Lake Windermere. If all of this sounds too energetic, why not head to the Lake to enjoy a romantic leisurely cruise with Windermere Lake Cruises who have regularly sailings from the heart of Bowness.
