Reviews

Lovely kitchen, great shower, comfy bed. Fantastic views. Parking tight for a large vehicle, you need to reverse in. First 3 steps down garden from parking there is no hand rail. Next 6 steps down, steep but with hand rail. Decor inside immaculate, lovely welcome gifts. The bottom 4 stairs twist and do not have a hand rail and are deeper than normal stairs. The leather settee is hard and the other settee is low. It would be better to have 2 chairs in the window so you could turn them to take in the fabulous views. We thoroughly enjoyed the area and the house was nice and warm at all times. Great TV and WiFi.

We have stayed at Driftwood twice now. With family in Silverdale and elsewhere in Lancashire, we travel and stay in the north often and try and book a cottage once or twice a year for an extended stay. We decided to stay here for two weeks at Christmas 2020, and had a lovely time. The owners got in touch to ask if we would like it decorated and of course we said yes, we had a three yo! However I never expected a large real tree! Plus Christmas trinkets on every shelf. Really made the stay feel wonderful and homely. On both stays we were grateful to receive wine and treats and complimentary nespresso. It was a very welcome stay, we were very lucky to get away with tier restrictions falling around us, but so very important for us to be able to see our family again through windows. I did manage to see my Grandma who passed away at the end of the trip, that opportunity was just so precious to me. The views from the bay were beautiful and peaceful and the cottage so homely so we decided to rebook the same cottage for our end April trip! Once more the cottage was pristine and peaceful! We knew the area was beautiful; but over the two trips we did discover a lot more than before, spending more time in Arnside than we usually do. It’s convenient for places like NT Sizergh, RSPB Leighton Moss, there is a deer park to walk through, the Safari Zoo is a great day out, it’s close to the Lakeside and Haverthwaite railway, is quite rightly an area of outstanding natural beauty in its own right (Arnside Knott, Pepperpot, Woodwell...) and it isn't too far to peak bag in the lakes. You’ll have a lovely time. Pics: The Bore from Arnside pier, a Sunset from the living room and a view of the front garden.

Just returned from four nights at this gem of a cottage. Beautifully kitted out and extremely clean. Lovely welcoming touches. Had some fantastic days out locally and further afield in Lakes which are in easy reach. Would definitely visit again! Highly recommended!

Driftwood is a treasure! We returned home refreshed by the beauty of Cumbria and the many comforts of this lovely home. The magnificent views are a joy-a living landscape of nature at its best. Do not miss this but not in Oct as we will be there !

Driftwood is a lovely property and has captivating views across the estuary. It was spotlessly clean and had lots of welcoming touches. We really liked the local area, especially Arnside and did a couple of stunning walks from there. Milnthorpe is also very close and has a good Booth’s supermarket. It is also easy to visit local visitor attractions such as Sizergh Castle and the foodie village of Cartmel.

Enjoyed an excellent week at Driftwood. The cottage is in a beautiful location with all the facilities you could wish for. Maintained to a high standard and 'spotless' . Views from the windows ever-changing and enjoyed even more with a nice glass of complimentary wine!

We loved our visit to Driftwood, & would highly recommend it to anyone. It was very tastefully decorated, spotless & well equipped-& the view from the rooms were stunning! The sunsets were amazing! We were able to cycle to the villages on either side, & also do some of the scenic walks locally. We went for a day to the lake district, where it was so busy & often without suitable places to stop and enjoy the view, we were so pleased to get back to Sandside!!! You'll not be disappointed if you stay here.
