Resting in an idyllic rural location in the area of Great Whittington in Northumberland, this large and beautifully-finished barn conversion, lying on the owner's working farm, makes for a fabulous country stay. Todridge Barn is the ideal choice for a group of six walkers, or a family who enjoy the outdoors, being within easy reach of the historic Hadrian's Wall and nearby to some great activities like Go Ape Matfen. Park up on the ample gravelled drive before you step into the underfloor heating open-plan living space, a fantastic social hub for the group to gather in and relish the company of your loved ones. Light the woodburning stove with some kindling and feel the warmth from it as you settle onto one of the soft sofas, with a TV with Freeview for entertainment, or simply enjoy some drinks with a hearty flow of conversation. Be impressed beneath the spotlights by the striking kitchen, with a dark blue units contrasting well with the wood worktops and flooring, whilst integrated appliances lie hidden behind the cupboards, including a fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Gather around the dining table, which takes centre stage in this rich interior, and dine with your friends, making plans for the rest of your stay. Discover an adventure in the treetops at Go Ape Matfen where you can travel through the canopy via the exciting rope course, not for those who don't enjoy heights! An incredible activity not to be missed while you're in the area is to walk along the ancient Hadrian's Wall, found just a few miles from Todridge Barn, as well as being nearby the seven-foot tall Stob Stone, a prehistoric standing stone. Vallum Farm is only 4.2 miles away, known best for its award-winning country weddings. If you are looking for fine dining, the much publicized Michelin Star Restaurant Hjem is only 5.1 miles away, located in the small village of Wall. Absolutely loved our stay at Todridge barn. It has been beautifully decorated, is warm, cosy and very welcoming. The beds were heavenly. Beautiful walks and horses right outside your front door! Definitely would return!
What a lovely place and just perfect for our holiday. A real hidden away location and as quiet as can be. We were fishing on the river, visiting the coast and dog walking on the wall. The hosts were most welcoming and the eggs in our welcome pack went down a treat. Definitely going to visit again soon
Fantastic spacious converted barn in a beautiful rural location close to the pretty village of Corbridge and historic sites of Hadrians Wall, very clean, comfortable and well equipped with a lovely welcome basket on our arrival from the charming and helpful owners, we had a lovely visit and would definitely like to come again
