Kent is affectionately known as the Garden of England. Its history and heritage provide the region with a rich array of sightseeing possibilities, while the stunning choice of Blue Flag beaches offer the chance to enjoy the beautiful coastline.
We stayed here over the weekend with our friends. The setting was beautiful with local walks down to the village and river - we ventured quite far. The cottage was well appointed but I felt it needed some tlc. It was looking tired - chips on walls, wallpaper coming off in our bathroom - not overly clean. The floorboards were very creaky and the wall between the two cottages very thin - we could hear everything they said. There is only one shower upstairs which was a bit of a nuisance. The garden is not enclosed for dogs which made us nervous as they could wonder off. The local pub was shut on Saturday night and is being sold apparently so there is no local to walk too. Great tennis courts…. So, overall, a great weekend away but some money needs to be spent on the property to bring it up to its former glory.
