Location Details
The quaint town of Windermere is nestled in the picturesque countryside of The Lake District, a stone's throw away from the twin town of Bowness. The town homes a range of amenities, including independent shops, pubs and restaurants. There's a host of attractions within easy reach, including Lake Windermere, the largest lake in England, as well as a plethora of walking, cycling and hiking routes across the Lake District National Park. The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.

The house is situated in a great area for the lake and shops only a few minutes walk. The furnishings in the property are very nice and comfortable. Unfortunately that's where it ends. The double room in the basement is very damp which causes it to smell very strongly & isn't comfortable to sleep in. The double room at the front of the house has a leak in the onsuite so when my friend had a shower we also had a shower in the downstairs lounge. We informed the company which we book through & they said they knew about it but didnt have time in-between the bookings to sort it out & advised us not to use the shower. We were made to feel very uncomfortable when we used the hot tub on our first night (5.50 pm) by the neighbour who shouted at us. We also felt very intimidated the second night by the neighbour when we tried to use the tub at 4.30 pm so we got out after 30mins & didn't use it again. Not good when you are paying to use the facilities offered & you can't.
