The village of Praa Sands rests between Helston and Marazion on the south coast of Cornwall, known for its mile-long sandy beach and excellent surfing conditions. There is a beachfront bar/restaurant boasting wonderful views, making it the perfect spot for sunset drinks. Also home to the allegedly haunted Pengersick Castle, the tower of which dates back to the 16th century. The bustling Penzance and Helston are within easy reach, hosting a range of attractions and amenities.
Incredible location, near the shore and a small corner store where they bake Cornish Pasty everyday. The house was lovely and the kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. Would recommend to anyone who wants to experience Cornwall for the first time.
The most exceptional place I've ever stayed in! I drove 600 miles from Edinburgh to stay here, and while I've visited Cornwall before, it's never been even half as wonderful as this! A beautiful house with one of the most incredible views, photos truly don't do it justice! I spent my mornings diving into the cold water, and my afternoons relaxing in the jacuzzi. There are some amazing nearby towns, although a beach side bar exists only a minute or two walk from the house, and we took the car to visit Lands End and The Lizard, both of which were absolutely beautiful! The hosts couldn't have been more helpful or accomodating for me and my 3 companions. Coming from the hustle and bustle for just a weekend, my time in Praa Sands remains one of the best trips I've ever been on.
Great place to stay! Excellent views and great amenities particularly liked the hot tub and its just a short walk to the beach
Sea Sands had everything, beautiful views, lovely decor and furnishings, great location. Nothing negative to say, would definitely stay again and would recommend everyone to.
Although we had a very nice week here a very sour taste has been left when we were unfairly charged for a broken picture frame (very heavy and held up with string) fell from the wall when we weren’t even in the building. We contacted the cleaner to let her know it had happened and have since contacted Sykes and the owner who don’t want to know!!!!! Would never use either again. Be careful!
We have just returned from Sea Sands and wow what a lovely place to stay. The accommodation is brand new and built to a high standard. The views are fantastic and we were happy to sit on the balcony watching the surfers below with a G&T or two! . Even though Praa Sands is very quiet, Penzance is just a short drive away. If you plan to go to St Ives we recommend getting the train from St Erth as the parking in St Ives is crazy even before the lockdown restrictions were lifted. Also, if you want Gluten Free fish and chips then try Frasers in Penzance - it was fantastic! Overall I can highly recommend this accommodation if you want a quiet break. We would love to return, but it’s a shame as the prices for 2022 are 3x the price we paid this year!
