Resting in a tranquil location surrounded by woodland, at Kippenross near Dunblane, is Maisie's Cottage, a charming annexe attached to the owner's home, ideal for a couple wanting to enjoy some quality time together in the peaceful Scottish countryside. Accessed via a private drive and through the owner's courtyard, parking is available on the gated driveway. As you make your way to the property, you can take in the pretty river view and the air of tranquility. Next door is an outbuilding that the owner uses as an office, but there is plenty of space at the front - From there, you can walk straight out into the Kippenross woods and enjoy lovely walks along the banks of Allan Water. Alternatively you may choose to stroll beside the river in open parkland which is planted with mature specimen trees; Salmon fishing is available by separate agreement with the owner. Step inside the property and remove coats and shoes in the designated space in the hallway, before moving into the neutrally styled, bright kitchen, fully equipped with all of the appliances you will need to create delicious home-cooked meals, including a dishwasher to take care of any washing up. Care should be taken at the other entrance point to the kitchen, beside the spiral staircase that leads to the first floor, as there is some restricted head height in this area. Enjoy meals together at the dining table in the living/dining room, before retiring to the sofa to enjoy a movie night, with the selection of books and games sure to provide hours of entertainment. Prepare for the day ahead in the stylish bathroom, which offers a shower over bath, cosy heated towel rail and light up mirror for added convenience. When it's time to catch up on rest, head up the spiral staircase from the kitchen to the charming double bedroom, with a sloping ceiling and rooflight windows, showcasing the picturesque countryside views. Head into the centre of Dunblane, just a mile from the cottage, to find a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a golf course. Enjoy afternoon tea at Cromlix, a luxury hotel refurbished and reopened by Sir Andy Murray, pay a visit to Dunblane's magnificent cathedral, part of which dates back to the 11th century, and hop on a train to easily access the cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh. The Victorian spa town of Bridge of Allan is just a couple of miles away, named after Allan Water, the river that flows through the town - the extensive history of the town dates back to the Iron Age and today you will find a golf club, a good selection of shops and restaurants and the Macrobert Arts Centre at Stirling University.
