Reviews

This is an honest review. Please do not be fooled by 4 ticks. Which we took as 4 star. I have stayed in better 3 star cottages. On arriving at the cottage we did agree the garden is very pretty. A haven for wildlife. It does not mention it actually backs onto a lane. You can hear the traffic whilst in the garden. It's not heavy but it is there. On entering the property the porch is in need of a sweep. Kitchen was clean and tidy although the roller blind was filthy. No wonder it was left up. 1 bulb not working. Grill pan hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The owners left us a welcome pack, which is very nice but when it's costing £100 a night it's what one should expect. The lounge was tatty. Curtains hanging off curtain pole. Footstool filthy. Why have fabric surely leather so it dosent show the marks. It was cream as well. It has a game console but no batteries. Mirrors were smeared. Too be honest didn't really like seating on sofas. Dining area. Nails sticking out of wall, where pictures obviously hung once. Windows haven't been cleaned for some time. Carpets are frayed around edges. Mat in lounge, dirty. Upstairs what a shock one of the bed duvet cover was off colour hasn't seen a iron in months,so creased. Not inviting at all. Rubbish left under the bed,so not been hoovered. Bathroom light above sink not working, rads are rusty. Towels have stains. I could go on. I complained,I was relayed a message by sykes I should of phoned the owners. So your telling me. They would of come fully equipped with new blind ,stool.duvet towels hoover in hand. Plus a ladder to do the curtains, bulbs batteries. Paint brush. I don't think so. Quick enough to take our money though. No opolgy was given. Total waste of our money. We went by sykes giving it such good reviews. Strange how no comments since March 24. Don't be fooled by the garden.

Lovely cottage in a rural setting, well equipped and cosy. Had a great week with excellent walks close by and especially on the coast.
