Reviews

We’ve had a lovely weekend away at the Annex. Alan and Jane were very welcoming. Wine, homemade cake and a welcome note were provided on arrival, and whilst available for any queries, they left us to our own devices throughout. Our Labrador Alfie settled from the get go. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and carefully thought out in terms of convenience and practicality. We were blessed with good weather and were surprised to be told that we had access to the whole frontage, which includes a summer house, picnic table with parasol, pond, garden and bird feeding station. The latter attracts numerous visitors. It’s clearly visible through the patio doors and is a captivating watch. The location is quiet and elevated, with countryside views from the top windows. It’s a 20 minute downhill walk into Drybrook, which has a well stocked CoOp convenience store, village pub and fish & chip shop. Our stay was disappointingly brief, but we did manage to explore parts of the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley, which were stunning and only 15-30 minutes away by car. Apparently there’s a forest walk within a stroll of the Annex too. All in all highly recommended.
