The Peak District National Park is easily accessible from Doveridge, a charming little village. Doveridge, which is listed in the Domesday Book, is surrounded by lovely countryside and offers excellent walking and cycling trails. A modest shop/Post Office with a coffee shop is located in the settlement. St Cuthbert's Church dates from before the 13th century and is home to a 1000-year-old yew tree on crutches, under which Robin Hood and Maid Marion are said to have married. The River Dove, with its Victorian suspension footbridge, flows near the chapel.
