Hampsthwaite is a small village resting in North Yorkshire on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, home to a local shop, a village pub, tearoom, and village green. Nearby is the bustling spa town of Harrogate, Nidderdale AONB, the North York Moors National Park, as well as popular attractions like Fountains Abbey, Studley Royal Water Garden, Norton Conyers, Newby Hall & Gardens, and Valley Gardens in Harrogate. Hampsthwaite is a peaceful corner of North Yorkshire to enjoy a jam-packed getaway to the Dales.
The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.
Reviews
A week was too short to do justice to the area but this aptment was wonderful - quiet, well equipped, comfortable bed, off road parking, local shop just minutes away and large Sainsbury in Harrogate. Owners live in flat above if needed. A step stool in kitchen for shorter solo occupants would be helpful for reaching higher shelves in the kitchen cupboards. Recommend Fountains Abbey, Newby Hall, Ripon and of course York. if visiting Harrogate, take note TIO shut on Mondays as is Pump Room Museum. Jubilee multistorey car park entrance is difficult to find - my satnav kept taking me to exit instead. Renewing the white lines and directions on roads might help!
