A lovely spacious cottage with all amenities on offer to be able to relax after a day exploring all that the local area has to offer. Big gardens with a canal on the doorstep for pleasant walks. There is lots to do and see in the area, from castles to family farms and everything in between. A really wholesome, relaxing break enjoyed by the whole family
Can’t say enough about this wonderful cottage. Beautiful location, pristinely clean and everything you could wish for from a home from home and more. Outdoor and indoor wood burners are an especially cosy touch .
Four of us stayed here for one week from 22 July 2023. The house is superb, lots of space in all of the rooms and a big garden to play and relax in. The house is about 20 metres from the canal and is extremely quiet. Before arriving, the owners sent us lots of information on the house, area, attractions and directions. On arrival, there was a lovely Welcome Pack which was much appreciated. The house is spotlessly clean and contains every utensil that you need during your stay. The owners live next door and are on-hand if required but they were not intrusive. Meg (the dog) also lives next door and is the loveliest, friendliest dog - my Daughter loved her. There is ample parking, we had 2 cars, but you can certainly park 3 or even 4 if required. The secluded garden was great, a few different areas to sit and relax in and we also played a few outdoor games when the weather was good. Loads of wildlife visit the garden; birds, frogs, squirrels, We walked along the canal to a few pubs / restaurants which were excellent, there are also plenty of local shops, takeaways, cafes, petrol stations etc nearby at Chirk, Gobowen, St Martins and Oswestry – local train stations are in Chirk and Gobowen. There is lots to do in the area, we drove to Chester, Oswestry, and Shrewsbury and also visited Chirk Aqueduct, Chirk Castle and Pontcysyllte Aqueduct – which are just down the road and worth a look. We also went to Lake Vyrnwy which was about a 50 minute drive away. I’d thoroughly recommend this property if visiting the area.
