Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.
Absolutely lovely place .Peaceful and close to the sea.We went to celebrate my brother's 60 th birthday and it was perfect .The rooms were spacious and the location was ideal. As there were quite a few children ,they loved the hot tubs and the extensive garden .Dogs were welcome too ,which was a joy .With so many of us we made use of the massive kitchen and were able to cater for the masses.I cannot praise this place enough , everyone had a great time .A really fantastic find .
We were a party of 10 adults and 6 children celebrating a 50th Wedding Anniversary and a birthday. Everyone thought the property and grounds were fantastic. The house was clean and ready for us when we arrived at 3.00pm. Your first thought is that you will never remember where all the rooms are situated, there being a lower ground, upper ground and first floor. The kitchen is huge with plenty of utensils and easily accommodated everyone. The grounds are extensive and we used the large grass area at the rear of the property for football games (weather permitting!). Testimony to the property came specifically from the children, where their favourite times all involved the house and gardens. Everyone enjoyed the hot tubs! Overall the property matched up to the brochure description. The walking time to the beach was correct but we did find it a rather nervous walk with young children as the lane is very narrow in places, and has a relatively high volume of traffic with people travelling to and from the beach/camp sites/caravan park. We decided a couple of minutes in the car was a better option as there is a car park at the end of the lane or a 10 minutes drive to Barmouth where there is ample parking and plenty to do. There is also plenty to do within a short drive and we went to Ffestiniog for underground golf, Portmeirion Village and Harlech Castle - all of which we would recommend. We ate out at the Norbar Seafood Restaurant, and The Victoria Inn, and both were excellent, but everyone's favourite meal was cooked by chef LEWIS KEANE at the house! His food and cooking is fantastic. This can be arranged through Laura. One very minor point which we have flagged with the owner via Sykes Cottages is that some clear instructions on recycling would be helpful as the labels on the bins were very contradictory.
Have just returned from this fabulous holiday home and am in awe of it. Went with family and friends and had the most wonderful holiday. From the first view of the house and gardens it is sensational. 17 adults and 2 children in this amazing place and so much room for all to have their own space and be together in the evenings. Every bedroom was well laid out with en suite to most, comfortable beds and plenty of space. The kitchen was amazing and easily sat all of us in one sitting. Plenty of fridges and freezers, cookers and hobs to enable different foods to be prepared together. The gardens are vast and with 2 hot tubs and sauna kept us all occupied. Parking no problem. Short walk to the beach which again is vast. So quiet and peaceful. What wonderful memories for all. Gwenda Kirk
