Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot and highchair available. Off-road parking for 2 cars close to the cottage. Access to the castle grounds. Two well-behaved dogs welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop & pub 5.3 miles. Note: There is no WiFi at this property and mobile phone reception can be poor. Note: There is a steep path leading to the entrance of the cottage, Internally there is a staircase to the first floor. Note: Dogs are not allowed on beds or any of the furniture, you may like to bring an old towel to wipe muddy paws. Note: Fuel for the wood-burning stove is not provided, logs and coal are available locally at petrol stations and shops, we kindly ask that you do not collect wood from the estate. Note: The beds in the twin room cannot be made into one large bed, please consider this when booking. Note: If the Accommodation becomes inaccessible due to bad weather the National Trust for Scotland will take all reasonable steps to inform you and to offer an alternative National Trust for Scotland property. Location Details
Alford is a small rural town resting in Aberdeenshire sitting by the River Don and the hills of Bennachie and Coreen. The town boasts a rich history as it is home to the Battle of Alford battleground, Alford Heritage Centre and the Grampian Transport Museum. Alford has a variety of shops, with a local butcher and a pub, as well as local fish van visiting every Tuesday and a fish and chip van every Thursday. Just outside the town is the spectacular Craigievar Castle, while Alford also has Alford Golf Course and Haughton and Murray country park.
