Offering five guests a beautiful base from which to enjoy the delights of Derbyshire and the Peak District, Lavender Cottage boasts everything you need and more for a wonderful self-catered stay from a beautiful multi-level enclosed garden to an elegant master bedroom with en-suite. Soak up the picture-perfect exterior before stepping through the front door, finding the homely sitting room to your right where a large TV sits within the bay window facing the plush sofas for you to relax on. From here, head into the snug for some quiet reading time, or walk back through to the other side of the house to the dining room for board game, with this spacious and social room home to both a large dining table and some plush seating too. A well-equipped kitchen awaits you at mealtimes to get creative with your cooking, with a large gas cooker and hob, fridge/freezer, coffee maker and microwave all at your fingertips, complemented by the original stonework still showing in places throughout. A handy cloakroom lies off the kitchen, while stepping out into the small courtyard, which will also bring you to the external utility where a washing machine and tumble dryer provide further convenience. Head upstairs to discover three beautiful bedrooms, with a single room, a double room and finally a master king-size bedroom with a large en-suite shower room all featuring plenty of storage and lovely decoration and colour schemes. Serving two of the bedrooms is the family bathroom, home to Victorian style tiling with a bath and shower overhead. Spend time out in the pretty garden, with a patio area home to seating for alfresco dining and drinks, and lawn spaces for your canine companions to stretch their legs on, perfect for warm summer days, there is also secure bike storage to the side of the property. Discover plenty to do in the vicinity of Milford, with the village home to five pubs, all within walking distance so you'll have plenty of choice when it comes to dining out and finding a well-deserved pint at the end of a busy day. The Chevin Golf Club is a popular course nearby and lies on the road to Duffield where you'll find the nearest supermarket for all your essentials and ingredients, whilst in the opposite direction is the bustling town of Belper with a larger selection of amenities. Belper is also home to rich local history being the world's first Cotton Mill town, with Strutt's North Mill Museum offering an insight into what the town was like in the height of the milling industry. Wander around Belper's 'Jewel in the Crown', the beautiful River Gardens created in Edwardian times by the Strutt family in 1906, taking a stroll along the promenade by the river before finding the local cafés and tearooms for an afternoon treat. This cottage has easy access to terrific walking and cycling paths, and also to several picturesque villages and towns, the local bus route is also very useful for travelling to either Derby, Belper, Matlock or Buxton. My son-in-law booked this lovely cottage for a week in October. It was amazing fully stocked with everything you’d require and more. Very clean, comfortable and much bigger than it looks in the photos. It was great to have an open fire too. Highly recommended
