Reviews

The accommodation is ok, and most of the bedrooms are fine, kitchen is also well equipped, however if you get the downstairs bedroom you’ve definitely got the short straw, curtains are like tracing paper and it’s like daylight in there from the street lights outside. The King bed might be a king bed frame but it’s two mattress’ pushed together and rock hard ones at that, this bedroom also smells of damp and the walk in shower over flows constantly. The landing and stairs light are on a sensor and unable to be switched off and stayed on a long time lighting the room up as well, if you want to try and sneak out the room when you’ve got kids asleep in the same room the sensor light makes it impossible. Every night we were there, there was some sort of commotion going off outside with the locals who liked to congregate right outside the property with the police being involved one night until 1am. Word of warning if you are coming with small children or older relatives the steps to get into the property are steep metal fire escape ones and would be challenging/ difficult for some. We wouldn’t return to this property and wouldn’t recommend it either.

Stayed here for October half term with my family to celebrate my 40th. Love North Wales and wanted to be quite Central, so this was perfect. House had everything we needed. Large living area was great for kids party games and evening films/quiz nights. Shuffle board table got used nightly and pool table was also good fun. Dining area was large enough to fit us all in and kitchen was well equipped to cook for 17 people. It had everything we needed. I always bring my larger frying pans when going away but there was no need. Lovely little costcutter next door was well stocked. Few takeaways 5 mins up the road in llanberis (avoid amigos yuck). Multiple supermarkets at caernarfon. Minor issues which I'm sure are due to the pandemic, but the duvets are plasticy/waterproof and make an awful rustle when you roll over in bed. Beds were otherwise comfy but as others have said, the duvets just slip out of the covers every night. It's very annoying. Suggest bringing safety pins to avoid this. Showers are lovely, hot and high pressure. The whole place was always warm enough. The only other gripe is the locals are a smidgey bit hostile when entering/leaving the back yard. You can easily get 4-5 cars in there. We had 3 cars and a minibus in there. But obviously everytime we left it was one at a time, and the locals become very impatient/beeping horns etc and deliberately parking awkwardly to make it difficult. Same when arriving home and trying to get back in. Sometimes just parking right across the entrance whilst nipping to the shop. Now I know from googling that the locals opposed this place becoming a holiday home due to the parking issues it might bring to the village so you would think they would support us all parking off the street. It didn't spoil the holiday and it certainly didn't make any difference once we were inside the house. Just a shame really. We were considerate guests, spent money in the village shop etc. All in all would happily book this place again.

We had a fabulous stay at the Bull Inn with family. Good communication prior to arrival, we were sent a welcome pack with all details of the property and details of the codes for self-check in. The owner of the property also contacted to check everything was ok after we had arrived, which was a nice touch. The property was clean on arrival. The kitchen is a brilliant set up for large numbers with lots of space for dinner parties (multiple tables to be able to all sit together). Bedrooms all very comfortable with large beds, duvets were crisp although they didn't stay in the quilt covers brilliantly! The fact that there was an en suite in each bedroom made it much easier for families sharing. The showers were reviewed incredibly by all. The games room was also a great touch and much fun was had with the pool and shuffle tables. There isn't much to see/do on the doorstep and takeaways did not offer delivery but it is in a great location in terms of being a short drive from Beddgelert/Snowdon/Porthmadog. Overall we would highly recommend a stay at the Bull and we will be back!

We stayed at the Bull 7-10 May for a weekend of walking and to look at some future climbing routes. I’d never stayed in that part of Snowdonia before and we were all arriving from different parts of the UK to catch up after COVID restrictions eased, but Deiniolen was easy to find and gave us easy access to the slate quarries / Llanberis and the Ogwen valley without having to drive all the way around via Pen Y Pass. We were lucky enough to be amongst the first people to stay at the Bull Inn and would happily recommend it to others. Inside the bedrooms were all at hotel standard, and the kitchen, lounge and dining space easily managed our group. Having two of everything in the large kitchen meant that we could all eat at the same time and the comfortable lounge area was a perfect place to chill out in front of the fire after a wet day on the hill, whilst those with a bit more energy enjoyed the games room and shuffleboard. Outside we easily fitted five vehicles into the secure parking and the drying room and storage area in the basement meant that we didn’t have to bring wet kit into the upstairs. If you’re looking for self-contained accommodation in Snowdonia then look no further, we will be back!
