A lovely spacious and very clean cottage with stunning views from all windows. Spacious kitchen, diner, lounge, bedrooms, bathrooms, and huge garden area. We sat out most mornings/evenings with a choice of 2 picnic benches depending on what view you would like (the horses with a foal were lovely to watch) . Kitchen is very well equipped, the utility is an added bonus, the porch area with shoe store, the master bedroom was very spacious with lovely views. All in all a very lovely modern property. The only negatives are that as in previous reviews, the garden area is not enclosed so we did have to make sure the 2 dogs we had with us didn't escape and also, on arrival there was quite a lot of dog mess on the garden which we had to get up. The doors to the master bedroom did not open making it like a sauna, however, a quick search and we did locate the key and were able to open the doors for extra ventilation as it was stifling, as were the other upstairs bedrooms (but it was exceptionally hot so i would imagine normally this is not a problem). We had a problem with one of the doors during our stay, it was sorted out very efficiently with no fuss on the same day, excellent service. Keswick is a 10 minute drive away and Ullswater just 10 minutes. The Troutbeck pub a mile away did one of the best sunday dinners I've had and well worth a visit. Overall, a lovely property and we would definitely like to stay again.
Very spacious property and well equipped. Good location for visiting the area, but definitely need a car as out in the sticks. The property needs some attention, bathroom in master bedroom needs floor sorting as tiles are cracked. Cooker knobs need sorting as numbers rubbed off. General matainance outside is needed. Windows were filthy and grass needed cutting. Previous guest had left dogs mess over the grass which we had to clear up, - not nice. Some of the doors were unable to be opened which reduced being able to ventilate in the heat. Cant check in until 4pm & checkout is 9am so Monday to Friday stays only give you 3 days. Potentially a very nice property.
