Wellfield Cottage, Mark

A perfectly adequate little bungalow for a weeks stay. Everything very clean with most of the amenities you'll need. Spacious bedrooms, a large lounge, functional kitchen and two lavatories - (thank goodness). Probably enough parking for two reasonably sized cars, although the cottage itself is located just off a VERY narrow single track road and the turning circle is very tight, so be carefully when exiting the location. The cottage is located next to the owners farm, they have a few horses and donkeys , but there is no noise or smell from it. We did get a morning visit from one of the farm cats on occasions, but he/she stayed outside. Decently located for numerous places to visit, (Bath, Bristol, etc), although I'd give Burnham-on-Sea a miss as it's an absolute DUMP! Just up the road in Mark is a fantastic pub called "The Packhorse", where you can get a really good meal - but do book in advance. You'll have to go by car to avoid walking along very narrow single track roads with no lighting. Downside - the shower is very cramped if you're anything more than jockey sized. The television needs updating as it's quite a small sized screen and the freeview on it doesn't really cut it these days. Other cottages we've stayed at have had interactive TV with internet access included. Access, as I mentioned it's located just outside the village of Mark, which involves travelling along some narrow roads with limited passing points. That said, we rarely encountered any problems - so all's good.
