Location Details
Lapford is a charming, mediaeval village nestled between the National Parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor in rural mid-Devon. With moors, beaches, and magnificent Devon countryside to explore, the mid-Devon location has it all. The 16th-century pub and nearby SPAR shop makes for a tranquil base and relaxing holiday. Lapford is a historic village at its heart, with roots dating back to the Iron Age Celts and a mention in the Domesday Book.
Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

We stayed in this beautiful property just over a week ago and we are missing it already. We'll start with the owners, Sam & Jason. Sam is definitely the boss lol. They are so welcoming and thoughtful. They live at the rear of Lake View Cottage, so are on hand for any questions, or extra charcoal for the bbq at a small price. They are totally discrete and respectful of privacy. The cottage does not feel like a holiday let, we felt at home as soon as we arrived. The attention to detail is amazing & these guys have thought about everything. There is a spacious Hot Tub on the patio area where you can absorb the natural beauty of the surroundings. They also have a weather proof bbq hut at the bottom of the garden (see photos) which is as organsied as the cottage. To top it all, the lake that you can see from the cottage is full of coarse fish. Now this is not part of the cottage, so permission from the local farmer is required, but well worth it for the experienced and novice angler. We highly recommend Lake View because its real and feels like home. Thank you again guys, and we will see you both soon x
