We had a fantastic stay at Fairfield! The accommodation was incredible – super clean and homely with all the amenities one would need. Hot Tub was amazing, the views were stunning, and the hosts were very friendly and always helpful! A short trip down the road to the Park & Ride meant easy and convenient access to the local town of Ludlow where there's lots to do and many great places to eat. A superb place to stay whatever the weather, whatever the occasion. We recommended this place to friends for their mini-moon and they also had the best time. 10/10
A truly lovely lodge at the foot of Clee Hill ( the steep walk to the top is a must if you are able !) and the outskirts of the village of the same name. Delighted to be greeted so warmly by Jane, Anthony and Red the dog and invited to explore their small-holding at will. The lodge was so well-equipped; fluffy towels, dressing-gowns and slippers, coffee, tea, milk, bread, eggs and butter in the fridge for us on arrival. A HUGE TV ( Anthony, Jane was right not to let you go bigger !) in the lounge and almost as big again in the bedroom. We enjoyed a few films at night after tearing ourselves away from the hot-tub and private garden area. We also enjoyed a barbecue ( or 5/6/7…) as the weather was so lovely and generally relaxed, recharged and enjoyed exploring the local area. Shropshire is lovely - we found Bridgnorth to be our favourite place ( yes, even over Ludlow) and plan to return at some point in the future.
The cabin, although on the owner's land is not at all overlooked; the view from lounge/dinner window to the front is across the courtyard to the Shropshire hills of Ludlow and beyond. Lovely sunsets. To the back, your view is of the small, private patio/garden, which is where you will find the hot tub and garden table and chairs. The cabin was spotlessly clean and very well appointed with everything we needed for our stay. It even had egg cups! For those thinking of a longer stay, the bedroom has lots of storage. It ahould be noted that there is no waahing machine or dishwasher. When we arrived, our hosts had left half a dozen local eggs, a loaf of delicious bread from the bakery, 2 pints of milk and a couple of portions of butter, jam and marmalade. There was also teabags and some instant coffee. Meaning, if you arrive late (as we did) your first breakfast is taken care of. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower, no bath (but who needs that when you have a hot tub). There were two large bath towels, two robes, disposable slippers and lots of hand towels. More than enough for us. Should the need arise, there was also plenty of cleaning cloths, washing up liquid etc. Top tip: The bedroom doesn't have a window, it has a glazed door. If the handle is vertical, it opens as you'de expect a door to do. If the handle is horizontal, it opens hinged from the bottom as a window, just pull towards you. This gives good airflow securely. The cabin has two huge TVs (at least by our standards) plus bluetooth speakers and wifi. The hosts, Jane, Anthony and Dude the dog were incredibly friendly and generous with their time, inviting us to explore their 6 acres of land. If you find anything missing, I am sure Jane and Anthony will do their best to sort you out. I heartily recommend a stay here.
