This delightful, stone-built terraced cottage in the picturesque village of Monyash is perfect for a family or a group of friends wanting to enjoy their stay, right in the very heart of the stunningly beautiful, Peak District National Park. The cottage caters to five people and is beautifully finished with a clever mix of traditional and contemporary features such as the impressive, original stone fireplace and modern wood flooring. Two of the light and spacious bedrooms have stunning uninterrupted views to the rolling hills and dales. The modern, high spec kitchen/diner is a great place for a power-up breakfast at the start of the day's activities and the comfortable sitting room with soft sofas and mesmerising woodburning stove is a fantastic place to relax at the end of it. If you've still got some energy left, there's a good-sized level lawn for children to run around on and there's a lovely, gravelled area with garden furniture, ideal for dining alfresco in this sun trap while you look out over the rolling fields and animals. Your party might be interrupted however by the local horses as they often pop their heads over a neighbouring wall to say hello. Walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers couldn't be better placed with trails and routes just a stone's throw from the door, such as the Limestone Way and Lathkill Dale. Bakewell hosts your amenities with the very popular Manners pub and a selection of convenience stores; the town also makes for a superb day out, history fans will feel at home after visiting the renowned Bakewell Bridge, The Old House museum and Bakewell's informative visitor centre. Take advantage of your short distance to the Peak District National Park and embark on one of many hiking trails, explore the fantastic Blue John Cavern, before climbing to the rocky overhang of Bamford Edge to take in those dramatic views of the Park. For a day out with a difference, venture to Matlock and board the Peak Rail where you can run through rural vistas while enjoying locomotive dining; take the kids for an intriguing day out at the Matlock Bath Aquarium and arcade, or to the fun-packed theme park, Gulliver's Kingdom. For a cultural outing, travel to the bustling cities of Sheffield and Stoke-on-Trent for a plethora of activities to partake in. This is a beautiful place, not to be missed in any season.
