Hosting three charming bedrooms, this delightful abode welcomes families looking to explore the historic Brontë Country. After a day of wandering the Yorkshire hills, look forward to unwinding in the sitting room, boasting exposed beams and a woodburning stove, you’ll feel a sense of character on your return. Move into the kitchen where you’ll find all the essentials, such as an electric oven and ceramic hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and even a washing machine and tumble dryer, ensuring you are fully catered for. The bedrooms can be found upstairs and offer a traditional décor, offering a king-size, a small 4’6” double and single bed, each with plush duvets and plenty of storage space. If you fancy a night off cooking, a short stroll brings you to a selection of country pubs and fine restaurants, as well as bars where you can sample some Yorkshire gin and real ales. The village is known for being the home to the Brontë sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding beauty to pen their novels, and with quaint alleys and cobbled streets creating a period atmosphere, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back into another era. Visit attractions such as the Brontë family home and museum and the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, a preserved railway as shown in the famous film, The Railway Children. Venture to the lively market town of Skipton, regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, with its stunning castles and scenic walking routes through the National Park, or head to the bustling city of Leeds for a welcome change of scenery. With all this in reach, Duck Egg Cottage provides a lovely retreat, whatever time of year.

Reviews

Fantastic location. 2mins to main street with all the pubs. Ideal for starting walks through moors and hills. Cottage was lovely, clean and quiet. Everything worked. No idea what previous reviewer is on about. No issues with toilet. You get hot water if you turn the knob to the right setting. 'Snowflake' symbol is quite obviously going to be cold! Kitchen was equipped with everything you need and we did cook a lot. That is moss blown over from the roof into garden- not rat droppings! Really? Some people need to holiday at home if they are so critical! We would definitely stay again if we return to Haworth in the future. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Shower didn’t work cold water only, toilet tipped and towels at the pipes. Faulty hob. Fridge freezer and tumble drier dirty on top. Didn’t see smoke alarm flashing so don’t think they worked either. Just lots of things weren’t right. I did complain but was virtually called a liar. Why would I make these things up? Reported to owner on second day that front door key was bent and had hairline crack said they would call in the next day but never did. I was told rat droppings was compost! With a bit of effort this could be lovely. Nice carpet and fluffy white towels. Very disappointing in fact we came home a day early.
