Reviews

A group of 3 couples (family & friends & a 13yr old) We were lucky with the weather so we were able to make full use of the various outdoor seating areas. The kitchen is extremely well equipped as we tend to stay in and eat of an evening. A good base for exploring various towns nearby. There are lovely walks on the doorstep too and a place a short walk away where you can hire kayaks/canoes. The layout of the cottage worked for us, a downstairs bedroom for those that struggle with stairs although, showers are upstairs. Which was not a problem for us. Upstairs is all floorboards which was unfortunate for those sleeping downstairs when the baby elephant was in the room above . There were fans in each bedroom which were welcomed during our stay. Endless amounts of hot water all week. There seemed to be a lot of flies but, we bought swats & spray so soon dealt with them this is in no way a negative reflection on the property. The property was clean and all the bedding and towels were spotless. The beds were very comfortable and our mattress was nice and firm with no sagging. We received a warm welcome from Tracey on arrival and she also popped in just before check out time to check everything was alright during our stay. There were 2 very comprehensive folders with lots of information. We used the local butcher, chip shop & Co-op whilst there. Chips were beautiful. The butcher (nearest the cottage) did cakes & biscuits too. I would definitely recommend this property.

This property was chosen as the venue for our family Christmas - a week away from home. Grandparents, parents and two granddaughters. Although the weather at the time of our visit was atrocious, we very much enjoyed our stay, and the facilities in the property were such that we were able to be truly self-catering - we had not a single meal away from the cottage, and were able to prepare and serve Christmas Dinner with ease. We went prepared to be a little chilly at times, but were 'toasty-warm' at all times - whichever part of the property were ini. With a party of six all using various smart phones, IPads, laptops etc. it was a real joy to have good uninterrupted Wi-Fi access. Both grandparents and parents took along additional extension leads with multi-way sockets - what an unnecessary thing that turned out to be! - Coronation Cottage was blessed with a multitude of 13amp wall sockets in all rooms. The extensive grounds were admired, and we could all only but wonder how much enjoyment would be had in the balmy days of summer. The property's manager, Tracey, was only a phone call away from any help that might have been needed.
