Location Details
The North York Moors National Park encompasses the charming settlement of Castleton, nestled in the Esk Valley. There are two pubs in the village that serve excellent meals, a convenience shop, a deli, and a tea room that are all within walking distance of one other. Esk Valley and Whitby are served by a railway station that connects with the steam line to Pickering, a beautiful market town. Nearby lies the Camphill Village Trust community of Botton, which has artisan workshops and shops that sell home-made food, craft goods, and literature.
The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.
