Approached down a narrow lane, tall Scots pine trees stand on either side of the driveway. Park outside the front door and step through the porch into the open plan kitchen and dining area. The well-equipped kitchen befits from a large central island unit and to the side is a large family dining table. Beyond the kitchen is the conservatory with a second large dining table offers stunning views across the valley to Blencathra. The cosy and welcoming lounge has comfortable sofas and and armchairs arranged around the log burning stove and TV and patio doors open from here directly to the rear garden and patio. Stairs lead to the first floor landing and the four well appointed bedrooms, one with ensuite shower room. The bedrooms are complemented by a family bathroom and separate shower room. Two the rear of the property is a spacious lawned garden with beautiful views and comfortable outdoor furniture. To the front of the cottage is a wildlife garden that is home to a family of red squirrels. Located in easy reach of the shores of Ullswater (ten minutes) and the popular market town of Keswick (20 minutes), Flaska house is where guest can relax and unwind in beautiful surrounding and a great base from which to explore the Lake District.
The small Lakeland village of Troutbeck can be found between its more famous neighbours Windermere and Ambleside, close by the Kirkstone Pass. A mixture of houses, cottages and farms, the village is scattered along a narrow lane bordered by a drystone wall. Many of these buildings date back to the 17th Century with features such as mullioned windows and heavy cylindrical chimneys and the northern end boasts its own 17th century inn. Close by, the bustling towns of Windermere and Ambleside are popular with visitors, providing a range of amenities to suit all tastes. Lake Windermere offers boat trips, including the lakeside ferry to the Lakeside Aquarium and Grizedale Forest Park. The ‘Windermere Steamboat Museum’ displays a fascinating collection of boats whilst children will enjoy the ‘World of Beatrix Potter’ in Bowness, where technology brings her characters to life. Within easy reach of destinations such as Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains, Troutbeck is ideally situated for exploring all that the region has to offer.

"Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
