Caernarfon is one of the most historical towns in the United Kingdom: there are few others who can claim to have been continually inhabited since Stone Age times. Evidence of its history is most evident in the famous Caernarfon Castle, which began its construction in 1283 as a fortress, a seat of government and a home for royalty. The town itself is the site of many events and festivals throughout the year, such as the UK Strong Man Competition, the Caernarfon Festival and meetings of the North Wales Automobile Club. The Welsh Highland Railway offers trips through the region, where you can begin to fully appreciate the splendour of the region and you can take a boat out on a fishing trip from the local harbour. The town itself is well-served by restaurants and shops and its close proximity to the local beaches offer the chance to get the best of coast and country.
Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.
A lovely Cottage with great views. The owner was very good and extremely helpful.
The owner had equipped the cottage very well with everything that you could reasonably hope to find in a holiday let and more. We had a wonderful holiday. Thank you.
Everything exceeded expectations. Would definitely go back again and again!
We loved the location and the views and the fact that we weren't all that far from a town. We liked being able to start walks from the cottage.
The cottage was cosy and had everything we needed. The bedrooms upstairs were more spacious than we were expecting. The owner was welcoming and friendly without being overbearing, she made sure we had everything we needed. The children (5 and 3 years old) loved the cottage and grounds, especially the chickens which our younger son wanted to chase (poor chickens). We particularly enjoyed flagging down the steam train from the halt station at the end of the drive.
The cottage was cosy and warm and the owner was friendly and helpful. The rural location was excellent; there are horses, sheep and hens right outside the door, as well as a wide variety of country walks. Local information provided by the owner is exceptionally good. The cottage is an excellent location whether you want beaches, mountains or history (in the form of Caernarfon Castle and much more). The view from the kitchen window whilst washing up is beautiful. I hope to return when the Welsh Highland Railway is running to hail down the train at the station at the end of the garden. We returned home feeling relaxed and recharged.
Super location, convenient for shops and lots of interesting attractions, with lovely walks from the cottage. We had a very busy but relaxing week and enjoyed every minute. The cottage had character, was peaceful and comprehensive information about the area was provided. The owner was lovely and helpful. We would be more than happy to recommend the cottage and hope to visit again.
Beautiful, quiet location. Owner was very friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. It was good having several walks that could be done from the house without having to drive anywhere, and also having the Welsh Highland Railway station a minute's walk away.
Great cottage. Great location.
The property was a detached cottage in a farm setting; just what we wanted. Close to the Snowdonian mountains and tourist attractions. At the bottom of the drive is Tryfan Junction, the narrow gauge railway, and the start of a slate trail.
Peaceful location and surrounding area. Excellent walking from the doorstep, shops not too far away. Good location for day trips.
We were greeted by the owner and her dog who were very accommodating with a lovely personality. The cottage was very clean and cosy and superb views from inside and out, we felt very at home. A very restful and enjoyable holiday.
Great location with fantastic views. Ideal place to explore North Wales with great local walks and the bonus of the train from running along the bottom of the fields.
Beautiful views, great location. Cosy and a very clean cottage. Lots to see and do. Proximity to the sea and mountains.
We particularly liked the location; the peace and quiet, the nature, the walks, and being able to open the front door and be out in the wonderful countryside.
Beautiful quiet location with plenty of wildlife about. Country walking excellent from the door, leaving car at property most of week. Very helpful owner has provided a great deal of her time and work to ensure that visitors want for nothing. Bonus for my husband being the Welsh Highland Railway, just two minutes walk from the door and in view from the cottage door.
We particularly liked the peace and solitude and the beautiful surroundings.
