Mulranny is a lovely seaside village nestled between Clew Bay and Bellacragher on the Wild Atlantic Way in County Mayo. This charming Irish village is home to a selection of shops and eateries to assist you on your self-catered stay. There are plenty of opportunities for walking and cycling in the local area too, including along the Great Western Greenway, while further afield you can find excitement at Westport and the Ballycroy National Park.
The West of Ireland conjures up many images; thatched, whitewashed cottages, a flock of sheep on a narrow road, an emerald green field with a stone wall, or the Atlantic waves crashing into towering cliffs and rocky shores.
Just back from a week long stay here and it was just amazing. House is so well set up and has everything you could need for a family holiday with kids. The views are just spectacular and the hosts were so welcoming. Nevins for family friendly delicious dinner! Swimming in the mulranny park hotel perfect rainy day activitiy and the house was a great base for the greenway, westport and achill! Would love to go back!
Amazing nature views of the water and mountains. Perfect relaxing location: see the stars at night, meanwhile close-by head into Westport for live music and woodfire pizza, or head out to nature on Achill Island. Mulranny has a nice bike rental spot (with bikes and kids trailer) right on the Great Western Greenway where you hop on bike trails with breathtaking scenery to Achill. Unit is separate completely from the owners side (separate doors). Stay here for the living room view of the sea.
The most perfect getaway ! The location, views and hospitality were exceptional. I couldn't recommend staying at Curragh Hill highly enough. The views are heavenly ,it is so peaceful and the house is a five star feel and so comfortable. You will leave wanting to book again it’s that fantastic. Everything you need is within five minutes distance of the house shop, pubs, beaches.
I would like to let everyone know that this was the most perfect getaway for me and my husband. The location, views and hospitality were exceptional. I couldn't recommend staying and Curragh Hill highly enough. Bella and Francis went above and beyond for us we can't wait to return. " Heaven on earth"
We are just packing up to leave this little piece of heaven. Curragh Hill is the most beautiful house. The owners have thought of everything to make it home from home. The beds are so comfortable, so much so we intend to take the details and purchase the same mattress . The views from the house are stunning, looking out on clew bay, with direct views across to Murrisk, Bertra Strand Croagh Patrick & Clare Island. It is within a 10 mins stroll of a blue flag sandy beach. Mulranny is about 5mins in car or 20 min walk. Whilst staying at Curragh Hill our daughter got married at Newport church and had her reception at the Mulranny Park Hotel, so we have had the most magical 2 weeks. The garden at Curragh Hill was used for some of the wedding photos, which were amazing. The house is beautifully furnished & decorated, the photos do not do it justice. The best part of our stay has been meeting the owners Bella, Francis & their daughter Katie, who go out of their way to make you welcome. We will definately be back!
This has to be the best holiday rental we have ever stayed in. It really was a VERY stylish home away from home. Everything has been thought of to make our stay super comfortable. The views are amazing from every window and only truly appreciated in person. We even woke one morning to rabbits playing in the garden, to a backdrop of clew bay and croagh Patrick…bliss! We got lucky with the weather so managed to swim 3 times in 1 day!! The blue flag beach is less than a 5 minute drive. The property is perfectly located just outside Mulranny and on the Atlantic drive. We ate at Nevins in the next village. The oysters were amazing and service brilliant. We visited the new goat sanctuary in Mulranny & the kids enjoyed feeding the wild Irish goats. We cycled on the greenway and hired bikes locally. Our only regret is a long weekend is not long enough here. So, we will be back! It’s the perfect location for accessing Achill and Westport. The hosts are so welcoming and professional. Can’t wait to return.
Having stayed in many self-catering places over the years, Curragh Hill is at the top! From the moment you enter the bungalow, it is apparent that the hosts have thought of everything to make your stay memorable. It is furnished with taste and comfort and lacks absolutely nothing. The view from the sitting room window over Clew Bay is just stunning. In fact you could sit there for hours watching the ever changing colours of the sea and mountains. Mulranny itself has a good choice of restaurants and pubs and a supermarket and is within easy reach of Achill, Westport, Ballycroy National Park and the Belmullet peninsula. There are two magnificent beaches in Mulranny itself.
