Chard is a delightful market town and parish resting between the Blackdown Hills AONB and the town of Crewkerne. The town is known for offering access to the fantastic Forde Abbey & Gardens and hosting the Chard & District Museum/Heritage Centre, as well as being close to the delights of Chard Reservoir and Fern Animal Sanctuary. Dining options include the Bath House Hotel & Restaurant, where you can enjoy hearty dishes, as well as Saraiva's Restaurant, the ideal spot to try Portuguese cuisine. Within easy reach of the town is the Dorset AONB, where you can enjoy walks through Stonebarrow and Milldown Nature Reserve, as well as exploring the famed Cerne Giant.

Incredible stay!! We were welcomed by Sara & Ozgur, who were extremely kind and went through everything on arrival. This stay was exactly what we we needed for a relaxing mini break away. The views were stunning, the location very peaceful. You can't beat having a relaxing afternoon in the hottub looking out at those views! The property was extremely clean and had everything we needed. We will definitely be back to stay again!
We have just returned from a 5 night stay at the Shippon and wished it could of been more. Sara and Oscar are lovely genuine people who make you feel very welcome. The cottage is gorgeous I loved the interior design and the views (especially from the hot tub) were fantastic. I will never forget those. If you are thinking of going don't hesitate you will love it.
