Reviews

We have never felt as at home as we did in Ty Barcud. Firstly it was home from home, and everything about the cottage was just perfect. On arrival we were greeted by Digby, a very warm and sincere young man. He gave us some basic information, we were tired and suggested we take to our beds to get some well needed sleep. The bedrooms where lovely, so fresh and clean we had a really good night's sleep. Next morning we met Penny, a lovely, happy and very helpful lady. She gave us some very relevant information which helped us loads with the remains of our holiday. We took our dog Lola, she just loved it. The hosts allowed her to run with their two adorable labradors, nothing was too much trouble for them. It really was an exceptional holiday. We stayed for a week, and their prices just don't reflect the property. I'd go as far as to say Digby & Penny are one of the best in the business, we both felt we had made two new friends. We will definitely be booking again. Thankyou to both of you.

Very soon after booking the cottage, I had contact from Digby and Penny, the hosts, with valuable information and directions to assist in finding them. They met us on arrival and proceeded to offer helpful local information - a very friendly couple. On entering the cottage, we were very impressed with the thoughtful welcome pack, and being Easter it was themed accordingly. Ty Barcud was a spotlessly clean, cosy, atmospheric cottage, with a lovely log burner, already laid for us to use on our first night, the radiators were very efficient too. The kitchen was very well equipped with a cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and full size freezer, not to mention all of the utencils, baking equipment and crockery including serving dishes. The beds were lovely and comfy and we all slept well. The bed linen, towels and soft furnishings around the cottage were all good quality. The wifi signal was good, despite the remote location and using the internet was easy. There were reading books and games to use, as well as bincolulars, everything had been thought about. Simply, it was 'home from home'. The cottage has its own safely enclosed dog friendly garden - sitting on the patio was a delight to watch and listen to the many bird species on the feeders, in a tranquil setting, so relaxing. The property grounds are extensive and guests are welcome to walk around at leisure, enjoying the countryside views, besides being able to use a safely enclosed area, with a picnic bench which can be found on a high point in one of the properties fields, a peaceful place to enjoy the views. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and the roads are not busy, making travelling to the local towns easy. This entire experience definitely exceeded our expectations, there was nothing that we could fault, or that could have been done better. We will return without hesitation.
