Over three floors. Three bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x twin, 1 x second-floor super-king-size double with en-suite bathroom with freestanding bath, hand-held shower, basin and WC. Shower room with shower, basin and WC. Cloakroom with basin and WC. Kitchen with dining area. Sitting room with woodburning stove. Front Lawn. Rear Courtyard.

Oil fired central heating with woodburning stove. 2 x electric ovens, induction hob, microwave, American style fridge/freezer with ice dispenser and filtered water tap, washing machine, dishwasher, kettle, toaster. TV with basic Sky package, DVD, WiFi. Fuel, power and starter pack for woodburning stove inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot and highchair available. Off-road parking for 2 cars. Lawn garden to the front and courtyard to the rear with furniture. Two well-behaved dogs welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop 1.4 miles, pub 0.1 miles. Note: Two large cars may not fit on the driveway. Note: The garden is not enclosed

5 of us stayed early October.I consider the description over optimistic. The parking for 2 cars was very critical. It was also shared with the neighbour. No where to turn which meant reversing out down a very narrow drive. The second bedroom though large had a very small double bed. Why there wasn’t a wider bed in that room surprises me. My wife and I are 60 and 53 kilos and there wasn’t enough room for us. The wood burning stove in the lounge was difficult to deal with despite being a very good make. It smoked a lot and was hard to get going. Either the chimney needs sweeping or it was badly installed. We have two stoves in our house and so I feel well qualified to comment. Finally, in the kitchen there are two massive gloomy pictures behind the dining table making it very difficult to get seated behind without disturbing them. Why have them? One doesn’t go to a self catering cottage to admire the pictures or ornaments!
Filthy property. No cate has been taken for maintenance or cleaning. Keep ringing Sykes Cottages but they can’t get hold of owner to arrange refund. We were supposed to stay 3 nights but left first night as couldn’t cook in the filthy kitchen to eat. Shameful.
