The town's 19th-century agricultural show features handicraft, horticulture, and livestock competitions. The annual Carnival and funfair feature workshops, music, and fundraising events. High Bentham has pubs and restaurants, and its train station is on the Leeds-to-Morecambe line.

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

Reviews

I actually stayed there in may 1978! It was a working farm. Just a cold tap and a long drop toilet. I was dating the daughter Mary head, she worked in the lakes and we visited her folks at lanshaw on and off. I loved the place. It had only had electricity three years before. I helped with odd jobs and the sheep. I called by last summer a Gap of Forty sumat years. Place looks good, but the poet in me still hankering over the old place. I loved the big southern Georgian window on the stairs. I'd bathe in its sunshine and read. Cheers Johnny France 07798901953 give me a buzz owner.

Honestly, I don’t think I can give enough praise to this accommodation and also the little touches that the owners provide with this beautiful rental! The view is incredible! It is based on a small working farm and the owners will happily stop to chat but are not intrusive or too much. They left us a gorgeous welcome hamper which we found in the large kitchen diner area. The kitchen is fully fitted out and has everything you may need and more! There’s also a downstairs toilet, pantry, working aga and tv and sofas in the sitting area! There’s lots of window seats which is perfect for a bit of reading or taking in the view! The property has been renovated in a modern/ cottage feel whilst keeping a lot of the character of this old property. The view from the stairs is also a must see! There are 3 rooms. A single, and two rooms that can be 2 x singles in each room or converted to extra large beds for couples. There is everything you need for your staycation including wifi, tv, lots of information on local attractions/ walks etc. I don’t think there’s anything I could ask for more than what they’ve done. There’s even a picnic bench and courtyard type area. A hottub would be the icing on the cake but the bath in the master suite is incredible and so large, couples could easily enjoy a bath together! All in all, the most wonderful of holiday rentals! I hope to visit again soon!
