Location Details

With its cobblestone streets and back lanes, the picturesque and peaceful coastal village of Staithes is somewhat of an artist's dream. Its charming buildings and cottages are grouped around the historic harbour, which is flanked on three sides by high jagged cliffs, with a secluded sandy beach nestled among the rocky shoreline. The Cleveland Way, which descends down the cliff to the sea's edge, offers the greatest views of the town.

The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.
