Walter is built partway up a fairly steep hill in the center of Newlyn; although there is no parking there is a public car park at the bottom of the hill. My husband and I spent Christmas in this delightful classic, Cornish cottage. Our hosts had decorated the property creating a really festive ambiance. We found everything we could possibly need to make our stay comfortable. The beds were comfortable with crisp, clean linen; the towels soft and fluffy. The kitchen is very well equipped, basically home from home. There is a small courtyard at the rear complete with table and chairs ( obviously we didn’t sit outside in December, a bit chilly even in the far southwest) We were so pleased to find on our arrival muffins, tea&coffee were waiting for us. Little details like that make such a difference. If ever we return to the far tip of Cornwall Walter will be our first choice.
No parking, cottage on a steep hill that’s all over grown with weeds etc no care taken. Cottage fine. Very dark not much sun light gets in. They advertise a court yard, it’s tiny and you’re sitting out where the bins are and there’s also a sewage smell. Very dangerous step from bedroom to hall way. Bonus of a bus stop at the bottom of the hill that’s the only real positive here. Also we got charged for discolouring towels which was impossible to do on the low heat cycle I put them on. Tried to help putting a wash on before I left and they’ve charged me for discolouring towels something I’ve never done on the wash cycle used. Very poor and pics provided for evidence were not the towels we used.
