Filey is a classic British seaside resort with a friendly atmosphere, ideal for walkers and wildlife watchers all year round. A real Yorkshire gem. With Filey Brigg and its shallow rockpools to the north, Filey is a resort town on the North East coast. Filey Brigg is a low headland that protects Filey Bay and offers year-round birding and seawatching. 250,000 seabirds spend the summer on the 400 ft Bempton Cliffs (RSPB Reserve) south of Filey Bay. Nesting birds include gannets, kittiwakes, and razorbills. Gannets dive for fish in Filey Bay.
The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.
Reviews
Eric House was a very comfortable and convenient place to stay and enjoy walking in North Yorkshire. The Wolds Way passes through the village and the Cleveland Way is close by. Seaside towns and beaches are easily accessible. Countryside and coastline are both beautiful. It was good to come back to a cosy home and a hot shower after a day out of doors! We had everything needed for a very enjoyable week.
