A Georgian inn, Brandysnap Bistro for a home-cooked meal, and Lavenders Tea Rooms, Gifts & Takeaway are among the dining options. Stock up on necessities in the small convenience store, and there are two farm shops for fresh fruit and vegetables just outside the hamlet. Discover independent shops, the fascinating Pickering Castle, and the exhilarating Flamingo Land Resort in the busy market town of Pickering.
The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.
This lodge was a truly amazing find, perfect location for visiting many of the Yorkshire moors locations and for great local walks. Nice driveway in a gated area with its own little meadow which our dogs absolutely loved and 7 cute Hens for fresh eggs daily. they provided a dog bed with treats, bowls and towels for our 2 dogs, best part was they accepted that your animals may like to snuggle on the sofa, so rather than saying they have to stay off like everywhere else I've been, they accept it could be impossible but suggest you bring throws to cover their sofa, along with this they also do not mind you having an hour or so for a meal and leaving the dogs alone in the lodge if you are confident they are not destructive.......brilliant :-)) Hot tub, BBQ, Garden Furniture all welcomed and high end as were the fixtures and fittings, decoration and other. Arrived to a welcome note on a little blackboard (cute) a bottle of fizz in the cooler, orange and apple juice, cake and a hamper of tea, coffee, milk, sugar, biscuits etc. they also provide loo rolls, washing tablets, wash up liquid, bin liners etc, I didn't need anything i took of my own really. Beautiful spacious open plan area downstairs with a fully equipped kitchen, again, nothing else needed, log burner which i think will be lovely in the winter but we did not use it as was warm, lots of logs and kindling in the store. Very cute upstairs bedroom with a little shower and toilet area hidden behind the bed, which was very comfortable!, the velux window opens into a little balcony which i loved as it was very good weather whilst there it let in the fresh air as can get quite hot from the large windows when the sun is on them all day. Large bedroom downstairs, again comfortable bed, large bathroom with huge shower and roll top bath which i just had to use. cute little porch are to keep boots, shoes etc. All in all a fantastic home from home which we all thoroughly enjoyed and have started recommending to all our friends and family, we will definitely be back to Foxes Den and wish Nicole and Scott all the best in this new adventure, you so deserve it for all you have put in to making everyone's stay perfect
