Within 0.6 miles there is a shop, within 0.5 miles a pub and within 2 miles, a beach. Dairy Cottage makes a wonderful retreat to Cornwall.

An old Cornish town between Bude and Kilhampton, Poughill The community has a friendly tavern, supermarket, and old church. Bude, just outside the village, has restaurants including Life's a Beach and The Bank at Bude Tapas and Grill, as well as a well-stocked convenience store. In the town, there's also the Bude Sea Pool, Summerleaze and Crooklets Beach, and The Lock, Bude Canal. Boscastle has the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic, Warren Point, the South West Coast Path, and Boscastle Harbour.
