The small village of Trefor, which overlooks Caernarfon Bay and is surrounded by sea and mountains, has a harbour with a stone breakwater pier and a sheltered sandy beach that the Wales Coastal Path goes past, or the more brave can experience regular surf outside the breakwater. There is a convenience store, a Post Office, and a licenced social club in the settlement. The Welsh Language and Heritage Centre and restaurant are located nearby in the community of Llithfaen.
