The living areas in the property include a kitchen, containing , a Rangemaster oven and hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and a sitting room diner seating for four people with a TV, and woodburning stove. The bedrooms consist of a superking-size bed and a kingsize, along with a bathroom room with separate shower. Outside is a garden with fire pit, chimnea and hot tub as well as a picnic lake. Within 3 miles, you will find a shop and a pub. Three well-behaved pets are welcome. Please note that smoking is not permitted. WiFi, fuel, power, starter pack for woodburning stove, bed linen and towels are all included in the price. Location Details

On the edge of the Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with deeply wooded valleys, lush green fields and winding country lanes, Sheldon is the typically peaceful and picturesque country hamlet. A collection of natural stone cottages, the village attracts those who love peace and quiet. Foxes, badgers, deer and a varied birdlife will share your stay here, and yet the Cathedral city of Exeter, with its shops, restaurants and good pubs is just a short drive away. Close at hand, too, is the Heritage Coast of East Devon and Dorset, with the beautiful fishing village of Lyme Regis making a splendid day out. Ottery St Mary, the coastal resort of Sidmouth and the lace-making town of Honiton are all within easy reach. The rocky tors and wild open spaces of Dartmoor, a must for anyone visiting Devon, are only 30 miles away.

Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

Fabulously warm welcome from Amber &Kevin.very thoughtful welcome pack for humans and dogs (the dog tags with the local details are a brilliant idea). The cottage is super clean, exceptionally well stocked with everything you could possibly need and very cosy open fire. The garden is secure for dogs and the hot tub is a sumptuous treat. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

What an amazing cottage. Made very welcome by Amber and Kevin. The welcome goodies were very much appreciated, even goodies for our 2 poochies. The cream tea on arrival was to die for and it was the best we had all holiday. Southcott cottage was a perfect base to visit other areas of Devon and Cornwall, and when we got back after a day out we had a soak in the hot tub which was heaven. Super dog friendly. We have stayed in many cottages throughout the UK and Southcott was by far the best. We shall be recommending this cottage to everyone we know because in our opinion everyone should experience Southcott Cottage. Very quite location which was perfect for us.
