Troutbeck, a small settlement in the Lake District, may be located between Windermere and Ambleside, not far from the Kirkstone Pass. The settlement consists of houses, cottages, and farms spread out along a winding lane enclosed by a drystone wall. Many of these structures, especially those on the northern end, date back to the 17th century, as evidenced by details like mullioned windows and large cylindrical chimneys.
