Malton, the historic heart of Ryedale, has many interesting buildings, including the Corn Exchange and Assembly Rooms. The town still has a weekly general market and livestock and farmer markets. The Yorkshire Moors and Yorkshire Wolds are to the north and south, making it ideal for walkers and cyclists. The stunning coastline is only 24 miles away, as is the historic city of York. A great base for exploring North Yorkshire.

The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

Reviews

We arrived and we're really pleased. The house was spotless and well furnished. It is is within 5 min walk of town centre with takeaways pubs and restaurants. There is no parking on site but owners provided a parking spot in the town free of charge (again only a 5 minute walk) all locals friendly. Had lovely Sunday lunch at Talbot Hotel. Recommended "The Tap room'. If you like craft ale. Really friendly. Morrison's just down the road if you want to self cater. Stairs were querky but it's an old property so no complaints. However! The hot water from the tap and shower was nothing more than hand warm and no way to turn it up. The bathroom didn't even steam. Which may be ok in summer warm months but not in December. Getting washed was a chore! Although you could advance the heat so you could be warm. Xx We didn't use the hot tub. If the water was as warm in the house then it wouldn't have been pleasant. Also I know they tell you they have CCTV. But it covers the front door the side gate and the back yard. You are also overlooked by flats over the adjacent alley the property next door and properties behind. The photos they showed of where the CCTV would reach was not whilst you were in the hot tub. But the short route to the house you could be watched. Although the neighbours weren't out in a cold December Perhaps this is just personal to me. Perhaps others wouldn't mind. I am sure that if was my property then I would be equally over protective The only other point I would like to ask. Is why can't you have the towel rail on in the bathroom whilst you have t he central heating on. It is the only source of heat in the bathroom especially considering the low hot water temperature It sounds like a big moan but actually I would recommend this property to anyone who would like to be close to Malton Please if you need one take your own hair dryer and corkscrew for wine and wet hair
