Location Details
Located in the heart of Dartmoor, Yelverton is an ideal starting point for exploring the area's numerous hiking and cycling trails. The 21-mile-long Drakes trail, which connects adjacent Tavistock and Plymouth across wooded valleys and open moorland, passes past the settlement. Bicycles can also be rented in the town. The Drake Manor Inn and The Royal Oak, two of the many restaurants in Yelverton, offer a warm welcome and excellent locally based cuisine. Buckland Abbey, The Garden House, and Burrator Reservoir are all within driving distance. Day visits to Salcombe and the charming riverside village of Newton Ferrers, both on the South Devon coast, are simple. As well as its maritime legacy and its historic Barbican district's small cobblestone alleys dotted with a good range of restaurants and bars, Plymouth can also be conveniently accessed.
Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

The cottage is brilliantly situated for walks on Dartmoor and opposite a great country pub. The kitchen is fully equipped and the cottage is very clean throughout. We had a fabulous 3 night stay. Only negatives would be water pressure and soft mattresses but those are personal preferences. Brilliant place to stay and would recommend it!
